This page has details on installing the necessary software for connecting a Macintosh to Nectar.
If you can not view graphics with your web browser SimpleText versions of these pages can be found in the directory /pub/mac/setup, or downloaded via the following links.
Instruction list
At the 'nectar>' prompt type 'shell', then enter your username & password at the prompts that follow. You should now be connected to Nectar.
At the command prompt type 'macstarter' to download StuffIt Expander, FreePPP and Netscape.
Your terminal program should automaticaly decode the StuffIt Expander archive into a Self Extracing Archive. Double click the SEA file to install StuffIt Expander.
At the command prompt type 'exit' to logoff and disconnect from Nectar.
Note: Make sure you have read ALL of this document BEFORE disconnecting.
Install MacTCP or Open Transport.
Place the MacTCP control panel in your control panels folder.
Or use the Open Transport installer.
Decode and decompress the FreePPP archive by draging it on to StuffIt Expander.
Double click the FreePPP installer to instalI FreePPP.
Note: The installer will restart your computer after it has finished to make FreePPP available.

YA-NewsWatcher is a very good usernet news client program.
